Umbertide presenta un caratteristico centro storico circondato ancora dalle mura medioevali nei tratti che costeggiano il fiume Tevere ed il torrente Reggia. I primi insediamenti del VI secolo a.C. sono testimoniati dai bronzetti di Monte Acuto, oggetti votivi rinvenuti sulla cima del monte dove si trovava un santuario etrusco. Nel centro storico spicca la Rocca, superba fortezza medievale, da sempre simbolo della città, da cui si snodano pittoreschi viottoli fra piazze e piazzette. Tante le belle chiese con le opere di artisti tra i quali il Pinturicchio, il Pomarancio e Luca Signorelli.La zona offre indubbiamente interessanti escursioni nel verde incontaminato delle colline circostanti, ricche di castelli, eremi e decine di agriturismi dove la tradizione contadina ed i suoi frutti è a pieno regime.
Umbertide features a characteristic historic center still surrounded by medieval walls along the sections that border the Tiber River and the Reggia Stream. The first settlements from the 6th century BC are evidenced by the bronze votive objects of Monte Acuto, found at the summit of the mountain where an Etruscan sanctuary once stood. In the historic center, the Rocca stands out, a superb medieval fortress that has always been the symbol of the city, from which picturesque paths wind through squares and little piazzas. There are many beautiful churches with works by artists such as Pinturicchio, Pomarancio, and Luca Signorelli. The area undoubtedly offers interesting excursions in the untouched greenery of the surrounding hills, rich in castles, hermitages, and dozens of agriturismos where the farming tradition and its products thrive.
